Gentleness, Psalm 18:35 says “You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, your gentleness made me great.”
How can the gentleness of God be not only David’s, but also our strength? Our Lord is kind to those under His wing, He is soft and caring when we stumble and trip. Careful to pick us up while still teaching us to trust Him in the hardest of times.
How oh Lord can I make Your gentleness my strength?
It would appear that gentleness is a weakness here in this dark world. Yet we still see our earthly fathers be gentle with their children and it is so tender and touching,
What does it mean to be gentle? Oh to be more gentle and rest in the strength of our Lord!
Gentle can be seen in a number of ways. Soft, meek, humble, kind, giving, forgiving, mercy, understanding, longsuffering, loving, and caring.
one thing that really is hitting me as I write this. Is that of all the strength of the world God needs none of His to reign. Just the smallest portion of God’s power is enough to overwhelm all the powers of this world.
What darkness can even withstand His presence yet alone His power?
What strength it takes to be gentle in the face of the rough and bitter, yet alone the enemy!
And yet while we were still sinners. Christ died for us! Praise be to God the author and finisher of our faith!
