The Great Shepherd, such a humble title for a king to bear with honor. Both king and shepherd. He both leads, and commands rightly.
Let your judgements be my guide my oh King, and Thy staff be my comfort of Shepherd.
How righteous is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Master of all? The One who rules, Faithful and True, Lord of Hosts, Mighty God! The Psalmist rightly wondered at your might. At your command the mountains shake and cast themselves into the sea!
How quiet and serene is my Shepherd who leads? The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want, He makes me lie down in green pastures. Oh Everlasting Father, and Wonderful Councilor. You own the cattle on a thousand hills. yet you care for us? Who is man that you should notice him? Surely the Psalmist stood fast for the goodness and steadfast love of our Shepherd!
We welcome both the Lion and the Lamb, gentle and yet who dares rise against you? Behold the nations rage. You sit still in the heavens and laugh. Who is man that you are mindful of him? Are men not but dust? Your Judgements are true Great Lion! Your comforts and salvation are sure oh Lamb!
We can rest surely in the God who saves! Let us trust our great God to be all He has promised!
