A mighty ocean is our God. He brings life, and He brings death. He moves as He wills and encompasses all that are within so certainly that it is impossible to understand what you are a part of while present.
If our God is an ocean then we are like schools of fish. Everyone living short meaningless lives only having power in large groups and only existing thanks to the life giving ocean. Unaware of the vast nature of the very thing that contains us. Most having no care to know the depths, width, or breadth of the ocean while still benefiting from its currents and food supplies.
Lord let us become aware of the vast and glorious life giving sea!
The ocean contains fish, from tiny to great all die and are forgotten. But who can ignore the sea?
The deeper into the ocean you go the more pressure and danger increase leaving only those designed for the depths to survive, even to dare traverse the murky depths of unknowingness.
Lord I want the deep things, where all eventually sink after death. Lord show me in life, provide light as I dive deep. Beyond the shipwrecks of fallen empires and kings. Let me see into the distance to a time forgotten and peoples no more. Let me see Your beauty resurrect the simple fish of the past into bright bioluminescent creatures of the depths.
Lord let your waves crash and churn, and Your beauty be seen by all. Your strength from afar, and serene life giving by those within Your waves.
